Well I have done the quarter mod on my UVHC connection. I posted this in another forum and one guy seems to think this is absolutely a stupid and retarded idea. His reasoning for this is if it came loose it could cause catastrophic engine damage. I really don't see it coming loose unless the tabs broke off. Ford even sells shims that do the exact same thing. Any opinions? I need some ammo......
There are always people freaking out about things that have about a 0.0000001% chance of happening. I would be more worried about broken GPs than a clip breaking.
There are also people that say that it isn't wise to swap out the factory air box for an open system, that a chip or tuner is crazy, that over sized tires and lifts are dangerous, and on and on and on.

We go against that grain.
I agree. That is why this site is more fun. I guess this guy on the other forum just had me second guessing my advice on the quarter mod because of potential damage. I did offer the advice of the shims, replacing the gasket, or the quarter mod. My opinion is that we can do a we choose with our trucks. I'm sure there are people on this site that probably would not do it. Each to their own.
There are none so blind than those that WILL not see....

I really like that. It has so many other applications, way beyond Powerstrokes. Selective Ignorance- it's one of the things I can't stand. I think I'll mention this quote at my next church youth group meeting. Is it a Pop original?
