I'm looking to improve the top end of my 352 engine a little. The heads will be rebuilt with a valve job and hardened seats. I'm doing the Edelbrock 2105 intake, Holley 650 CFM 4BBL Carb w/ elect. choke, Pertronix elect. ignition with flamethrower, Hedman ceramic coated headers. My question is which cam would work well with this combination?
Just don't overcam, gearing also affects what rpm range you will be running at, this may help you find that http://www.pszweb.com/car/gears.htm
For example a street truck, with 4.11 65mph is 3100 rpm but with 3.00 it's about 2200. Make sure the cam powerband fit's your rpm range.
Sounds like a stock build with intake and exhaust. Most people run an RV grind in those. Something around a 256-262 grind I would say. That is also usually the advertised duration.
As for a specific cam, depends on brand and preference. Most manufacturers will produce identical cams or at least comparible
Here's a good place to start, read the applications. Self explanatory what cam fits you
Don't overlook the transmission. Stick shift or automatic. The recommendation for an RV type hydraulic chamshaft is a good one. Basically a fresh 352 will be a white knuckel ride at anything over 70MPH anyway. Sooo how fast ya gonna go?
I'll be running the NP435 Trans that came in it....obviously a swap by the P.O. Not really being built for speed but need to be able to run on the interstate.
