Okay, just in case anybody out there ever gets inclined to do this, I found the low pressure inlet. Had to take off the air filter top cover, up behind it underneath the cowl by where the big wire harness connectors are.
I attached the refrigerant hose, quick connect kind, and followed the instructions on the can. The system sucked all the refrigerant in about 2 minutes out of the 14oz. can. I used "Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic 134a+". I don't know anything about this stuff, I just reached my level of frustration with my A/C where I just wanted to do something, never paid attention to brands or options here.
It worked like a champ though. I took a quick ride up and down the street and my A/C works MUCH better. Nice to have immediate results.
Nothing serious. Will not work as well or may blow off a relief. If it's blowing cold your good. Why did it need some??
Not true, if you over charge you can lock up the compressor, called slugging and it can cost you the compressor, dryer and orifice tube. You should never charge an A/C system without using manifold gauges. I know that some will argue. Let's go back to Clint. Do U feel lucky today?? They don't make gauges for the hell of it.
I think my system was low because the radiators have been disconnected 3 times for service/replacement. Cools better now and I think I will spend the extra coin for the refill bottles that come with the gauges in some kits. I think it was around $35 at Wal Mart.

Compressor lock up is 99% because of lack of oil. People will fill systems and not add oil. 14oz is not enough to hurt his system. The 1% of the time is overcharge, but not by filling by suction, but by a pressurized fill or filling by liquid.

It's your truck, do it how ever you want. I guess those gauges I use were a waste of money!
