Anywho , waterpump appeared to be weeping from the weep hole. Yanked it off tonight, bearings seem tight. impeller looks fine. Is there supposed to be a gasket between the backing plate and block? Wondering if the backing plate gasket was leaking, because waterpump feels/sounds/acts fine, now that it's sitting on the tailgate. And the top of the backing plate is loose next to the block (no bolts).

remove water pump
installation is the reverse of removal
Any ideas?
If water was coming out of the weep hole that means the seal is shot. Replace it with a new pump or otherwise it will leak again. Yes there is supposed to be a gasket between the plate and block. The guy that worked on it last might of just used silicone.
