Fuel Tank Sensor / Valve
I'm in the process of changing the gas tank in my '00 super cab..
I have the tank out & was ready to swap the sender & vents....
After wiggling this little black thing (after I removed the wiring pigtail) around and trying to work it out of the hole (after I turned it ccw), the top broke off.
What is this thing called? Is it a purge valve of some sort? Need to figure it out so I can put everything back together.

it is what was in the hole that you already took out- the hole directly behind the filler neck&vent. (the hole to the right of the far left blueish vent).

Fortunately, I found one at a salvage yard for $40. The dealer wanted around ~$90.. ouch..

They already did. If I would have been able to get it from the pick'n'pull, it would have been $5.
The guy behind the counter said, "oh, it is $90 from the dealer..... <pause> our price is $40."
