deleted rear tank and selector valve

okay so i deleted my rear tank not too long ago after the sender, pump and the integrity of the tank went bad. i didnt feel like replacing everything and then my front tank started putting gas in the rear so i deleted the selector valve....can i leave the selector valve out or will it cause problems with the HP fuel pump?

It's correct name is Dual Function Reservoir. The emphasis is Reservoir. You may find the engine might stall on an incline.
