I am having a strange problem on this website only.
I use XP and IE 7 at home. I use Vista and IE 7 at work.
With the Vista IE7 combo at work when I come to the fordtrucks website everything works like normal except for the back button. When I click the back button nothing happens the first time. If I click it again it goes back to the previous page like normal.
Not a major issue but strange. This started maybe a month ago.
I would guess it is a Vista IE7 issue but it only happens on the fordtruck site. No other site causes this problem for me.
BTW I tried IE8 on my home PC and removed it after a month or two due to memory hogging and a lot more IE lockups. With IE8 I usually found at least 4 instances of IE running and sometimes more, this probably was the cause of memory hogging. I guess these are "backup" copies of the webpages used to restore the browsing session when it crashes. I'd rather have it not crash.
The IE 7 has been much more stable for me at home and I will NOT update to IE8 at work due to fear of similar problems.
For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would still use IE when there are better and faster browsers, like Firefox and Opera.
I notice that most of the people doing the complaining are non-supporters, so it's probably linked to the ads on each page. I haven't had any problems at all like what is being described in this thread.

Same here, and I've been using IE 8 for months on all machines.
Jim, those extra instances of IE are because of the crash. They are orphaned in memory, and you will have to manually close them. Or restart. They are not for crash recovery.
I know not everyone wants to support, but for $20 you could try it for a year and see if your problems improve.
Of course, no matter what you do, do a hard cache clear. Often. With extreme prejudice.

Because those of us at work don't always have the authority to install another browser, even if we feel it's the best option.
It appears to be related to the recent Facebook integration. The office blocks all that social networking crap, so it tries to download a script from facebook's IP and crashes.
Since I use FTE almost exclusively from work, it's a bit of an issue, for me at least.

You might be onto something there. I block Facebook at my office too, and every other social site I can find. It hasn't caused any FTE problems for me, so far.
Go to TOOLS/OPTIONS and clear the temporary files. In particular, clear temp files and cookies. The other stuff won't matter. You can also just try CTRL-F5, but it is not as complete.
I think the Facebook option has been up for a month or so. Not sure.

Oh, I wasn't sure what you meant. I have done that before. I will do it again and see if it helps
