My 97 f150 4.6 ltr is giving me 2 annoying (not devastating) problems.
1. At idle (stoplights) it Hiccups, not stalling, randomly more when cold.
On fast accelerations it surges, moderate accelerations its ok, runs smoothly otherwise.
Tuneup and 1 coil replaced (driver side) at 115K, now has 127K. IAC Replaced at 100K.
Transmission fluid(incl. converter) & filter changed at 125K.
I plugged in the code reader, no codes, no CEL.
2. Random Code 32 on the airbag light. When it happens the horn and cruise still work, so I am guessing its not the clockspring. It happens about twice a month.
Any thoughts on either would be appreciated, its a great truck and I am the original owner.
Thanks!
John

Reason: Additional Info
Thanks Tony, I cleaned the MAF last night, (it had never been done) no difference, i will look into the EGR today. Our other car had a TPS failure also, with a random CEL, easy fix can that be cleaned?
TPS can have a dead spot in them causing all sorts of nastiy diving issues that may or may not set a code.
Mine ( a relatively new replacement part) had a dead spot just slightly above idle position that caused hiccups on light acceleration, and fast idle at times on de-celeration (just like a defective IAC unit).
After many month of the symptoms, it finally got bad enough to set a code.
I replaced the iac at 100K or so, fixed a stalling problem at idle, I will probably do what i did on the other car and wait till a code shows up. I am going to ohm out the coils tomorrow when i get a moment.
Thanks for the responses, this one may take a while.
