Those are nice speakers in the door, uhhmm......200 watts you say.
No, the amp driving those is a 200 watt unit. Those are Pioneer drop ins that are rated at 120. I've had those for years. Pretty nice for a direct fit.

Mike, please make sure you have some anti vibration dampening behind the Magnahelic, wouldn't want you to get any false readings from the thump.
I know what you mean Brandon, funny you mention that since I was driving around today checking that out as well as how my alternator was going to like dat yo.
Screw that! Play some Van Halen "Running with the devil"! Nothin' more fun then drowning out the crap next to you with its tin can, trunk rattling base thump. Maybe even "Jamie's cryin"!
Yep, Van Halen (DLR, not that SH c-rap). Def Leppard, Metallica, or I'd even go Disturbed for some new-school stuff...
I have to admit to this strange tradition. When I put in new stuff, the first song I *always* play is Hysteria from Def Leppard. It all started back when I was in Army tech school (AIT for you Army grunts). Me and a buddy restored his '76 Trans Am and put 12s in the rear deck (remember how big that thing is?? LOL), a couple of amps, and replaced the speakers in the front including separate tweeters. Built a home-made power supply for his portable CD player (they needed positive AND negative voltage back in the day -- LOL) and CRANKED the new DL CD when we got it done.
So now I've been thinking about that for my truck. I'm getting to the point where I need to get my electronics done inside. I've been focused on mechanical stuff, and the interior has remained completely stock...
Mike --> I'm guessing you mounted it directly to that bracket that was left on the floor. Is that the stock bracket? I was thinking about building myself a slightly smaller box than yours, putting it there, but also attaching the factory arm rest to it. If I build the box to the right dimensions, will that work from what you can tell?

Yes, the stock bracket Joe. I was thinking of the same thing with the arm rest but this box was too large and it would have been too high. I am sure you could use a smaller enclosure built to size that would allow the flip up console to be retained. If you raise the sub up just a bit you could run your amp under the sub instead of under the back seat where mine are. Well in theory. My Sony amp did not fit between the brackets at all.
I'm kind of partial to "ain't talkin bout love".Scorpions 'the zoo' is a good one to thump the sub. That is what I used to set the initial input and gain settings on the amp to since that CD was in the head unit anyway.
Okay -- sounds like I have a new project... (Jamming the Scorps now )
I have a homemade box now with a single 10 in it that absolutely rocked my Ranger. I think going up to a 12 and building the box to fit there with the stock arm rest will do it. I use that arm rest too much (for my arm and storage), so I really want to keep it. I was thinking about mounting my amp on the rear of the box, since it won't stick that far back.
Atta girl Smokin! Appreciate the honest gals! Anyways Mike, I bet you vibrate right outta your damn Stansfields with those massive subs poundin right beside you! Holy crap!
Here is the setup I just installed last week. I tried to keep some of the storage space, put the amps under the rear seats, and had this box custom fabbed right to the cab. It's only one 10 inch, but it pounds alright.
