Are there any Ranger tail lights that are interchangeable with the lights on my '98? They all look like the same dimension from 93-up but I notice they have the orange/amber/clear in different locations. Is it possible to use lights from another year (98-up) without having to cut and extend any of the harness in able to switch the lights positions?? I ask because I got a fix it ticket for a busted taillight and cant find the 98 style taillight for sale on the local craigslist or forums, yet there are plenty of other post 98 lights up that people are selling for cheap.
Why not just get new ones. Aftermarket ones are not that expensive when you really think about it. For used ones, others should work. You might have to switch some bulbs places, but the harness should be long enough. If you get used ones, just remember you will need both sides, while if you get a new one in your original style, you need only replace the broken one.
My company sells the 98-99 Ranger taillights. You may want to avoid other body styles as the mounting bases are different. With our parts, you can reuse your stock bulbs and wiring harnesses. They are priced better than most used lights in a salvage yard, and are DOT and SAE approved.

Because money is really tight and would rather worry about payment of the speeding ticket I received (reason for stop, fix it ticket was added on for light) among other things. Other styles are up for sale locally for really cheap for the pairs since everyone seems to goto euros on these trucks but I cannot find any 98/99 lights anywhere.
Give a guy some credit here gents, of course it would be necessary to switch both tail lights if swapping style vs just replacing the broken one if keeping the same style
Rear tail lamp assemblies are listed as 1998, 1999 only on y2kfordparts.com.
New aftermarket lamps are listed on Rockauto for under 20 bucks, so quit crying.
I asked if different model lights would fit and got my answer, but you were too stupid to comprehend that. I can get 01 model lights for 20/set locally but wasnt sure if they fit. Take your **** somewhere else.

Thanks for the response but I went with g_k50's advice and ordered from Rock Auto...got both DOT and SAE approved lamp assemblies shipped to my door for $4 more than one lamp was from 1A Auto. Already got the speeding ticket bumped down to a parking violation for half the fine and no points, now Im off to the police station in the morning to get the fix it ticket taken care of...I am a happy man today
PS - g_k50, fyi my ticket was for going 38 in a 35 zone its not like I was driving like a jackass and doing 20 over the limit or driving recklessly like you seem to think. I just crossed paths with a traffic officer who was in a shiatty mood that night and must have been short of his daily quota. I had just gotten off work and it was 1am, Ive never even seen a motorcycle officer out that late. Oh well, my dad was an officer for the same department for 32 years so the ticket was bumped down with a quickness and everything is all gravy now.
I shouldn't be talking about speeding, I remembered that I got one for 38 in a 25 school zone. That got knocked down to 35, no points but a 60 dollar fine.

Hey guys, let's tone it down. This site is intended for the exchange of useful informations about our Rangers, not to see who can slam someone else the hardest.
XLT2.5L, glad to see that you got the lights you needed at a good price.
