Why couldn't the stealer fix the driver side door ajar sensor on my daughter's 3+ year old Sploder while it was under warranty?

Why do they now want $450 to replace the door latch because they say that is the problem?

Why did the dealer decide to step up to the plate and replace the latch under warranty?

My daughter just called with the news.
