Power wire length

I haven't had time and it's going to be raining for the next couple of days, so I thought I'd ask here. I have a '99 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab and will be adding an amp to the system soon. I keep tools, spare filters, tie downs, etc. behind the rear seat, so the rear cab wall is out, 100% out as an option. I will use the driver's side battery, run 4ga through the firewall, down by the door sill, and install the amp under the rear seat (NOT back wall) on the driver's side. Any idea how much length I need to buy? Most kits come with 17' or 18'. Will that be enough?

Thanks!!

18 feet should be more than enough. But, easy thing to do (and helps with routing) is to lay everything out with string first, and then measure the length of the string.

Well, I can say I used a 28' length when I ran from the pass battery to the driver side of the firewall back to the rear cab wall. You should be able to cut 10' off with your plan.
