I made my own HPX line yesterday. I went to a local implement dealer and got a couple #5 ORB to JIC adapters, and 2 90* hose ends. I installed the adapters and hose ends then used a piece of fuel line to figure out how long the make the hose. I then took the hose ends back with the measurement and had a hydraulic hose made. It's workin great.
Made my own.. Hard piped. Flared ends.. Got fittings from a local hydraulic supply house and stainless tube.
Was kinda of tough bending. Put it in, see. Take out and bend. Put it in, see, Take out and bend. Put in and see, Take out and bend.. If i had to do it again, I would buy the kit.
If My dad wants one that would be easier. I can take mine out and copy the bend.

I used a hose rated for 3000 psi working pressure. Having worked in hydraulics in the past, I know it can take pressure spikes much higher. The whole thing cost about $35 to build.
If I had to do it over I would shop around for 4000psi hose.

Measured from the center of the fittings, 13 inches.
That is why I took a pic of it next to a ruler.
You don't want it to touch anything when installed or vibration will cause chafing.

High Pressure Crossover. It ties the two oil rails together to help even out oil pressure between the two heads. For me, it helped alleviate the 'romps'. For some, they have noticed smoother, quieter idling and acceleration. (For me, not so much)
The home made kit only requires a trip to any parts store or hydraulic shop capable of making the hose. Buy the fittings and hose made to spec [both fittings facing the same direction] and install.
The premade kit costs pretty close to the same.
Installation for both takes less than 1/2 hour. If I remember right the only tool needed is a 5/8 wrench.
Is it worth it? I'm not sure.
I made my own because I like to do things myself whenever possible.
I keep the old plugs and wrench in the tool box in case it ever starts to leak. I think that is a good idea nomatter which way you go.
