Adrenaline + Excursion + DP + Burnout = Broken!

FWIW, if the EX has an open diff\worn out stock LS, and one wheel peel, turns into the other side, or two wheel then to one, and vise versa, is extremely hard on both spider gears, and axle shafts. One or the other will bust. So when you say you were doing donuts lol, that usually means at some point one may have been spinning, and then both. And that usually leads to death. Since you say your truck has a true trac, it would rarely ever spin just one.

Wow, guess I got lucky on that. Just ordered mine last Tuesday.
Rebel- I suspect you are right about that. I thrashed on my 99 for about 3 years before ever breaking anything. The extra weight over the rear wheels and basically open diff are an apparent recipe for carnage.
So yesterday I go out, jack up the rear and spin the driveshaft. RR tire spun, LR tire did not. Pop loose the axle on the Left rear and pull out a 4 " stub of an axle
. Really what I was hoping to find. Used a magnet and pulled out the rest of the axle, steal the other axle from my other truck and bolt er in. Easiest Fix I have ever had to do, took all of about 20 minutes.
So I hop in the Ex, take it out of 4wd put it in gear and go nowhere.
. Reverse- nope. Leave it in gear, set the park brake get out take a look and the rear driveshaft is spinning, but no tires turning. Snap!!
So much for my easy fix. Looks like I may have taken out the drive spider for the drivers side as well. So Rebel- You got one of those laying around?

Yes actually I do, youll probably want the whole set, and youll also want to clean out your differential insides, as the shattered spider gears are in there. I can send you the whole set if you want?

. That should be illegal. Want to give a HUGE shout out to rebelchevy02 for helping me out! He removed boxed and sent me the entire center section so I could finish fixing the Excursion. So after two weeks of driving around in front wheel drive, I can now step on it without the front going sideways!

No problem on the rep points, you earned it! Afraid the Smoke Show will have to wait until I get my truck back on the road. The next series of events may likely look like this- Adrenaline + Excursion + DP + Burnout = Child Support Payments!
