Hello all. I'm introducing myself. I first found this sight several years ago when I was looking for ideas on rebuilding a 302 for my F150... and I got great ideas from everyone. Unfortunately I blew my new engine up by pushing it too hard up a hill and had to redo. Now I'm back cuz that same truck is getting a face lift; gonna start a new life. I know everyone likes pics. So here's what it used to look like. I'm taking in progress pics, check back for more.
The white down the middle is common here in Iowa but not on the roof. Usually there is just one white strip down the middle of the truck and then a solid color top and bottom. Thanks for the pic though... I just got a new cancer free bed from AR and need to mate it up with my 88 F-250... I have been looking for different color schemes.
The entire truck used to be white until I painted the blue on there. I wanted to match as close to factory as possible, but I didn't want the whole cab blue. The blue on the hood reduces glare on sunny days, and the white cab doesn't draw as much heat into the interior. Ironically, I got a canopy and I'm going to repaint the entire truck and canopy the same shade of white. Winter white, I think.
Here's the truck all sanded down and ready for primer.
And here's the canopy. I'm currently putting large upward swinging doors on each side. Makes the canopy so much more useful.

Why Go WHITE???? I'd think that if you had a choice you might go with another color like Graphite (grey metalic), cobalt blue, forest green (like the origional color on the 92-96's), or another color... I don't know maybe it's just me but I think that there are so many white fords out there and you have the opertunity to not look like the rest...
I like the grey metallic idea. I'm still deciding. Maybe I'll start a new thread asking for color ideas. Make you all post pics of your single tone trucks. That's what I'm going for... single tone.

I couldn't agree with you more. My truck is white and I HATE WHITE. the color it's self is so plain as soon as i get everything fixed on my truck i am going to different color Maybe a antifreeze green or to a Orange sunrise kind of color.
Well, here's where I'm at so far. Just about got the new doors for the canopy finished. Just need to install the locking mechanisms on the two side doors. Next couple of days I'll be gearing up for paint. Still haven't decided what color I want to go with yet... maybe I'll decide once I'm actually standing in front of my choices.
Can't really tell, but all the fasteners you can see are actually countersunk solid rivets. A throwback to my days as a airframe mechanic in the aviation industry. Doors are made out of 5051 3/4" aluminum angle and 0.023" outer skin. Each door weighs a little less than ten pounds each. Pretty light.
