My newly purchasec 07 had bad water spots on all the glass, worst on the sunroof. Vinigar no good, cleaner wax no good, windex no good, polishing compound no good, CLR even no good.
Used this stuff called "Spot-X" I found at Home Depot. Done it today. Squeeky clean, spotless. Scab with sunroof, did W-shield, sides, back, and roof all in less than 30 minutes. Could hardly believe the ease if use.
When I heard about using the rubbing compound, I thought the guy was nuts! We had tried all kinds of stuff on our ambulances to no avail.. I watched him do the windows with rc. and it took about 30 minutes to do all the windows..Now we do all our trucks, cars tractors etc. Been doing this for 5 years now and love the speed and results,I have found the rubbing compound at all the parts house around here(napa, carquest autozone) just get the extra fine cut...Think a bottle is about 12-17. dollars
RC (club soda) always worked great for me. And Cheap!!
You know I would really like to see pics of peanut butter on your windshield. I would think that that would be harder to get off than the water spots. Maybe that's the idea
Ok, so........Workin in the aftermarket sales for automotive parts. Ive found that a paste of baking soda and water works wonders.
And as far as keeping them off. Treat your windshield with RAIN-X.... I think you could use on your bumpers too. I havent tried it just yet though. You can even buy it in the washer fluid pre-mixed and ready to put on everytime you use your washers. Oh yeah, get the winter mix right now.
