Maybe? The connector may be OK if you didn't find fluid or corroded pins/sockets
Yes, the sensor needs to be replaced IMHO
No, I don't know what I'm talking about
I got the sensor, but I need to know which wires go where, I have the colors and there are 6 of them, so if anyone has a diagram or whatever, I don't have the electronic shift module, which I know is one wire that isn't there and I think the other one that's not there is a ground, so if anyone has just a general wiring diagram it'd be helpful.
I got it all hooked up, ran good for a couple hours after I cleared the codes via battery unhook. It actually seemed to run perfect, but still a little slow and had one hard shift. My buddy who works at a ford dealer, let me borrow their 97 350 book, which I got the wire colors and **** for the neutral safety, so I am 100% positive that's good, but the book also has symptoms and stuff and the one that popped out at me, for the problem that is, was the AP Sensor, The Accelerator Pedal Sensor, It is pretty much the diesel version of the TPS. That's my next guess, before going to the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid. Comments?
I replaced the old one, I really think it is this AP sensor, I think I'm gonna go to the junkyard to get one cheap. I remember there being a front end of the truck, we'll see. The Ford parts guy, nearby me let me borrow his 97 350 book and it has the symptoms and codes for that, and they fit the best, besides the TR which is replaced now.
I have no idea what it could be. I replaced the tps, the trs, and the vss and it's all working fine. The next stuff I can think of and that the books say is the transmission solenoids and the torque converter clutch solenoid. And I have to replace that exhaust backpressure sensor pipe, it's a bit clogged, but I'm pretty sure that's not messing with the trans.
Have you erased all the old codes and re-scanned? It's very important to use a really good scanner and an even better diesel tech.
If the trans solenoids are bad they will show in the scan.
