Transfer Case Problem
I have a problem with the transfer case in my 63 F100 4x4 truck with 223cid and T98 trans, in that I cannot get it to shift. It is a 2 speed t/c with #C 97801 T on the front and back.
Can anyone tell me what model t/c this is?
And what might be causing it to not be able to be shifted??

i can't tell you what is wrong with yours but i can tell you what was wrong with mine. my truck wouldn't come out of 4low because it was stuck from lack of use. my mechanic monkey'd around with it for awhile, got it loosened up and it works fine now.
check your linkage to see if it's rusted up or stuck or rubbing on something, that was first guess on mine. on my truck that y-shaped thing(technical term from a non mechanically inclned individual) ended up being glommed up inside the transcase.
maybe you will get lucky and have a quick fix.

Ok I found the plate on this puppy and its a NP205. There are some other identifiers on there but the plate is so corroded unfortunately that I can barely make them out.
Model 205
Ratio 19
Serial 6 7 2 (with spaces in between)?
Assembly 491079 (with spaces before and after)?
Now if I could just get it to shift without having to break it open....
