Trans pan leak
Trans pan leak
I can not get the leak to stop after i changed the fluid and filter I even tried the gasket that it came with and still leaking anyone with and suggestions please its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it was the rubber gasket (flimsy) that came with the internal filter...I wouldn't use it. The OEM gasket with the metal reinforcement is reusable. Just clean it up with some dawn dishwashing liquid, dry it off and reuse that instead. I also had a leaking area on the flange that caused me to start over with using a liberal amount of Permatex around the pan bolt threads. Of course you'll have to wait until the Permatex cures before replacing the fluid.
is it leaking onto the pavement or is it just seeping?
if it is leaking drips onto the pavement and all bolts are torqued to specs. you may have some foreign material between the mating surfaces, which would require complete removal of the fluid but you could save it. by using a clean container

Did you use a torque wrench or the bygosh and bygolly method. If the latter, you could have tweeked the pan lip. Drop it, inspect and repair any deficiencies that you find. Then use a torque wrench.

Use the OEM that was on there. It's completely reusable. I've had mine off twice and it's never leaked a drop (knock on wood). Valve cover gaskets are the same and I've reused them at least a dozen times with no leaks. Just DON"T over torque them.
and think about it, and if he did bend the pan then he can get the 08 pan and real filter and have something that works better.
The 08 tranny's have a real transmission filter on them, not just the screen the earlier models have, but it requires a different pan, which happens to be deeper I believe. You can get both for about $120 or there abouts.
