Grrrrrrr. That is basically the truck I am building. When I started my truck project, a truck like that would never be under $5500. It is rare to see a nice dentside 4x4 around here for that price. Wish I had the money for it. I've got more than $3k invested in parts, tools, and machine work, although my truck will be new when I am done.

Don't feel bad bro, I am in the same boat, but it will be like new when I am done, I hope!!
Yeah definitely underpriced! I wish that had been for sale when I bought my '77. Mine was a one owner truck with 84k and only cost me $1000, but it was another $4k to get everything back into tip-top shape, and the color is still best described as rust.
maybe there is emission problems since its a '76? isn't '75 the last year for a car/truck to be exempt from the envirocommie smog test in Kalifornia? '87 and older here is exempt from smog tests, it used to be once a car or truck got 20 years old, but i think '87 is the cut off point here now, but for someone out of state or someone in the province of Ontario, this would make a sweet truck, dang Kalifornia laws really must irritate there citizens,
and i am California dreaming right now, a truck like that around here in Southern Ontario, or even the rest of Ontario here in Canada would be way more than that, base price would start at 10-15 grand, that is for a ok truck, for a perfect nice truck, we are talking 20 grand, also i am referring to 4x4 and 4x2, seems that doesn't have a effect on price, as i have seen some nice original looking 2x4 dentsides and bumpsides in the 20 grand range, and 4x4's just seem really rare around here, thus you don't see them much or see them for sale, but if they are, 15-20 grand easily for a nice one, and 5 grand for a not so nice truck,
thus my truck which is a '77 F-150 SWB 4x4 is super rare, short box and 4x4, the most desirable of the trucks to a lot of people, including myself, i just like the short sporty look and 4x4 too boot, so once my is finished restoration, i will have a 20-25 thousand dollar truck, at least around here it will be, but i never plan on selling it, the truck is my first vehicle, and i want to be able to say in 30-40 years time, that is my first truck, and point to the real truck, not some picture,
Wow, he really doesn't know what he has or is anxious to sell. IIRC that side step in the side of the box is a pretty rare option.
You must see this truck it is a total classic. Only two previous owners. I inherited this beauty from my grandfather.
He has NO idea what he has... prolly punk kid trying to make a buck to buy some parts for his honda civic.
Custom storage/tool box and step on passenger side
And by side step.... you mean tool box, because after all you shouldnt stand on that door. Dont think it was intended for that... but I could be wrong.

No, I'm pretty sure they offered a step that recessed into the bed to put the front of your shoe into to step up so you could look or grab something in the bed. I was under the assumption that is what he was talking about but after looking at the pictures again he has the slide out step on the passenger side below the door. When you opened the door a step slide out to make it easier to get into the cab.
Uh oh....someone is looking for a replacement.....
You so funny!! It is a sickness,,,I just need a fix man! But yes we do miss Ed!!!
Which reminds me, I need to adjust my sig... no more 73 no more 66

Those were called Glide Out Steps. Not a factory option, though - it's available as a genuine Ford dealer item. You find these more often on vans than trucks.
