I have a 1969 Ford F-100 Ranger that I have changed out the wires, swapped out the solenoid and starter, and had the voltage regulator and the alternator checked to see if they were the problem. They weren't. It still won't keep a charge. What else could be the culprit?
Thanks!

How old is the battery? Has the battery been drained completely or let sit for months without regular usage/charging?
Try getting it fully charged up, and disconnecting the neg. battery cable. This will help determine if there is a draw on the system when not in use. This could take a few days to figure out.
There is a method for troubleshooting that, once it is determined that is the issue.
Mine does the same thing when it sits for a few day. I can unhook the battery and it will last for weeks! If you come up with anything let me know!
As long as I drive it every day or so it's fine.
I think you need a wire with a bulb in it. Remove the neg. battery cable, and connect the wire between the cable & post. The bulb should burn. Start pulling fuses one at a time to determine if it is on a circuit.
You keep unplugging things until the light goes out. When the light goes out you should have located the problem.
Some of our other posters may have a better idea or an order of culprits to try.
Well I am mid restoration on it, and the alternator and voltage regulators are good. Also, all wiring up to the hard connectors are good. Im not seeing any blown fuses and I have replaced a burned yellow wire that ran from the alternator to the voltage regulator too. Only concern I have is my connector has 3 posts where my regulator has 4 posts, but it looks factory correct.
Also, can anyone point me in the direction of reattaching my shift lever to the column (currently it is in the seat and JB Weld has been applied where it once went). And how hard is the wheel seal on the rear to change out and anyone have good pointers there?

I think he's probably figured out the problem by now.
For some really odd reason, OLD threads from the 2009 era keep being brought back up, as if they're current and relevant topics (???????) --not your fault.
Like me, you've probably just jumped into the conversation to make a reply, because you didn't realize that the date this was started on was from back when Methuselah was a kid.
It's just sort of natural to think we are talking about topics in the present when you see a thread pop onto the page.
Anymore, I have to make a conscious effort with EVERY topic on the page to see if it's one that's current or, if it's one from years ago, before I make any replies to it.
It gets really tiresome having to constantly be on guard, in seeing if the thread is old, before making a reply to it.
