Don't forget to visually inspect the connector thoroughly and make sure it is well-seated when attaching to your computer.

I strongly suggest you check those codes before buying any parts. The codes are there to help tell you what is wrong.

if the computer is bad it may not be possible to read codes.

ya...my code reader wont tell me codes and ive tried the other methods. but im not getting any codes. so i have to agree the computer is busted.
