So the check engine light has been on forever, finally pulled the codes and 2 problems. replaced the MAF and the egr pressure sensor. Now I'm getting a new error p1131, everything points to the EGR but just replaced it. anyone got some good ideas, or run into this problem before? thannks
Oxygen sensor, quoting from my 1999 Ranger Powertrain/Emissions service manual, p1131 points to H40, H40 sezs, Upstream HO2S not switching, Check intake air system for leaks, obstructions and damage
Check air cleaner element, air cleaner housing for blockage
Verify integrity of the PCV ststem
Check for vacuum leaks
Ten Test steps later that are too involved to write down and are requiring special PCM reading software, replace HO2S.
It might be helpful if we knew which engine we're talking about.
P1132 = Lack of upstream O2 sensor switching - sensor indicates Rich bank one.
So, lets think about this some more.
Seems to me with a lack of O2 sensor switching & no fuel trim or other O2 codes, that a leaking bank one fuel injector also belongs on the suspect list.
So maybe a fuel pressure & leak down test is also in order.
