Tranny coolers

I keep seeing people mention putting a 6 ltr cooler on gas trucks? is this a worthwhile upgrade? If so what year cooler should I look for?

We would need to know more about your truck to advise. Year, motor, auto/manual?

I would definitely help. I had my tranny replace a few years ago, and they "upgraded" to the V10's cooler. I was totally unaware they did that. Anyway, I recently found a BRAND NEW 31 row cooler for the 6.0 for 125 bucks, and it dropped my trans temps 50-60 degrees easily. I have yet to break 150 on a 90+ degree day around town empty. Loaded, I MAY flirt with 160-180, but I recently replaced the 203 thermostat with a stock 195 one. We'll see if that has any effect on trans temps or not. Any 6.0 cooler will work, and obviously make sure it's at least cleaned and pressure tested. If you can find a good 31 row cooler, it'll make a nice upgrade. Here's pics of my recently replaced v10 13 row cooler and my new 31 row one.

you will need some adapters for connecting the larger line for the 6.0 to the stock hard line returning to the transmisison. Here's how I did it (Joe's truck, but I copied his) https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...good-deal.html

How many additional Quarts did you have to add for the 6.0 trans cooler?
