OT - It's Official - I have NEW Career!
OK, I'll keep this brief.
I have walked away from my 23 year career as an engineer in the pulp & paper industry! It was now or never, and my wife and I both agreeed that now is the best time to make this jump, knowing full well that my IRA savings account may be completely drained by the first year's effort.
I am starting my own company as an independent contractor, and this will include a multi-faceted approach to earning income.
Primary income: "Full time" sales associate for Schaeffer Oil
Secondary Income sources include the following...
--part-time contract engineering services to manufacturing plants (good part-time money opportunity)
--Pete's Covers (orders have been good altely and I'm keeping this going)
--diagnostic services with AutoEnginuity (learn as I go)
--general vehicle repairs & maintenance (more fun and learning)
--yard & landscape services (just plain old fashioned hard work)
--general home repairs & home improvements (just plain old fashioned hard work)
--custom hand-crafted home furnishing and furniture (more fun and creative outlet for me)
--custom-designed aftermarket addons for our trucks (I still have several ideas churning in my mind, but this is longer term in nature)
I am excited to get out of the engineering office and step away from a lifestyle of working full-time with manufacturing plants.
Thanks for all the envcouragement and support you folks have offered me since I lost my job at the end of August!!
