Does not run when cold

i have a 92 f-150 with a 5.0 and when i start it in the morning it starts normally for about 3 seconds then the idle drops and if i don't give it some gas it will die, after letting it run for about a minute it will run normally but the check engine light comes on but if i give it some gas the light goes off, if i stop giving it gas the light will come back on. After i drive it for about 15 minutes it stops and runs fine.

The first thing they always say is check the codes. My `90 had some of those symptoms and the altenator was not putting out enough juice.

i pulled the codes on the truck and said that it had low voltage to the throttle position sensor.

Had a similar issue on my '93 with the 5.8 last winter. New TPS fixed the issue. Do yourself a favor and get a Motorcraft TPS, found mine on ebay for about $35 delivered.

I replaced the throttle position sensor and that took care of the problem. Thanks for the help
