Are the door lock actuators in a '01 F150 the same as those in a '00 Excursion? I have one going bad on the F150. I did the fix trick on all of the doors in the Excursion I used to have and am hoping I can do the same on the F150.

Mmm, thought this was an easy question. On the Excursion I could pull the actuator apart and put a piece of foil in there and the motors would work again. Just wondering if the F150 uses the same set-up. Guess I'll pull the panel off and check it out.

 

Colud you tell me what that trick is cause all my locks seem to be a little weak when i push the unlock button.

 

Here is a link to the thread on the Door Lock Fix. I'm thinking this is only for the bigger trucks as I don't see any F150's in the thread response. Some of the pics I have seen on line look about the same, but who knows if those pics are the same as what you get. I've also seen pics of the cylindrical type of actuators (which I associate with after market parts). Thought someone out here would know.
