Purchased a 2005 Excursion 4x4 6.0 Diesel XLT last friday. It has a perfect carfax with a single commercial owner. It is white with the factory smoked windows, grey cloth interior, no lift yet, and 31" tires. I bought it from a dealer so I don't know it's exact history. It has 157k miles. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of Oil and Gas industry offroad vehicle. It has VGA and data line hookups in the rear, a CB antenna, and the roof had some sort of device mounted. It has light clear coat scratches all over and on the glass from offroad driving. It runs fantastic!
I'm a Ford guy myself but this is my first diesel and first f250/f350 based vehicle. I have a 2003 Mustang Cobra project vehicle and a boat so this is perfect for me!
I hope I can learn how to treat this truck from you guys. So far I did an oil change with the Motorcraft oil filter and Rotella Oil. I had the windows tinted as well. Also...what's the largest tank these things came with because I put $30 of diesel in and it laughed at me!
Hear the laugh at you
but 44 gal @ 20 mpg is a LONG way !
We just made the "flight" from DFW to Memphis (1000+ miles) and back and
only had to fill up after we ran around Memphis a while....
then only stopped for a lunch-potty break on the way back ! !
Ya know you got the last of a breed !!!
Only thing missing from yours is an SCT xCal tuner from innovative and a good flowing exhaust and you will love it 'more betta'
Will get some pics up for sure! Was going to shampoo the seats tonight and finish cleaning the interior after the tint job and take some pics then. I only have a couple pics right now.
I was actually going to ask what the best tuner for it would be. I want to get an intake as well. Not too sure about exhaust. I need to keep the cost down because I'm still building this Cobra and it needs another billion dollars or so.
Congrats on the ne Ex! Make sure to get an OASIS report so you can know what has ever been done to you truck. It's good to know what has been replaced or repaired!

Didn't get pics yet. Still cleaning it up! The seats are pretty dirt filled. Took me half an hour with my shampoo'er to get one of the seats partially clean. That was after spending a long time cleaning the door panels and front dash. This truck definitely saw a lot of dirt!

Best tuner would be Spartan tuner keep the stock intake its great and MBRP for Exhaust and I would recommend head studs greatly if your budget allows it. The 6.0's sound so sick straight pipe the turbo whistle is un real. Congrats on the truck

What's an Oasis report?
Oasis is the Ford repair history for Ford vehicles.
You can get a full history of the trucks repair history here on this forum. It's good to do and then you will know what things have been replaced and or what things have been problematic on your truck!! You have to post your VIN and request an Oasis and you will get your info......
Here is a teaser pic until I can take some new ones. I had to drop it off at the dealer yesterday so they could finish the rear A/C. They are basically having to replace the whole thing. I had them agree to fix it when I bought it and they thought it was going to be something small.
But I should get it back tonight and over tonight and tomorrow I will finish shampooing the seats which is coming out nicely.
