Here are the #'s of some other blocks I have hidden away C6ME, D1VE-A2B, D1VE-6015-A25, 66-427 plus I have parts to build a HO 302 a 351 Windsor 1984 Truck engine
Two hole mounts makes it a pre-66 block so that would be a C3AV-H which is a 1963 number. As to what CID it was, measure the bore 4.00" = 352 and 4.05" = 390.
1958/64 FE engines have rounded valve covers with no provisions for oil caps or PCV valves. These engines have an oil fill tube.
These passenger engines have bolt two holes per side for the front engine mounts.
1965/76 FE engines have three engine mount holes per side, as Ford considered the 2 hole setup inadequate for F100/350's.
1965 was the first year Ford factory installed FE engines in F100/350's. Thru 1967, 352 2V only.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C6ME = 1966/67 352/390/410/428. Since all these blocks were cast as 352's, measuring the bore or stroke is the only way to tell which size it is, unless the various crank codes are visible.
Midyear 1979: Ford changed the 460 block, the casting number is D9TE-6015-AB. This engine uses a weighted spacer, while previous 429/460 engines did not.
The flywheel (flexplate) and harmonic balancer are not the same as the D1VE, C9VE and C8VE blocks.
This was a "running change" so...there is no before/from a certain serial number, or production date.
