02 F-150 5.4L 4R70W trans w/ shift kit. Installed a 2400 RPM converter. Did a search but couldn't find an answer. Any tips or tricks for tuning it? Put in a value file from trucks 93 octane in my UEV0 stock tune strategy. Don't know exactly what the value file changed but it is working. Made a different tune this time because the last tune I tried made the trans downshifted to 3rd when it went into 4th. New converter allows rear wheels to spin from both standing start and rolling hit on the throttle. Downshifting using the throttle now breaks the tires loose to.
While I can't answer to your issue specifically, I can tell you that changing the TC and doing a shift kit is one thing but trying to add software change on top of it can lead to other issues because the computer program is trying to control hardware operation that has been altered.
You get into combinations that are not, to say legal, for good operation.
For example if you can change shift points and get the data to close in values, the program can cause program imitated hunting up and down on upshifts and down shifts in response to throttle application, road speed and RPM.
The computer can't handle everything properly unless certain guidelines are met.
This why I can only help you understand that piling change on top of change is not always the best thing to do.
One example is a software initiated change in pump pressure to make shifting more precise, on top of a valve body change is not a good practice. You should do one or the other.
Good luck.
