HELP! 300 running extremely rough!
hi, i have a 93 f150 with the 4.9/5sp. i have owned he truck for about a month and have always had cold start "issues" it would start then surge on cold starts. if i revved the engine once, i would not die an idle down normal.
yesterday, i was leaving atlanta and the truck started funny then idled very high and rough. almost like it was cammed. i revved the engine several times, it idled down then. i drove home no problems.
i went to start the truck this morning, had to try twice, then it idled very high and extremely rough. smells very rich, and lots of small backfires, just "pops" really. i drove it a short distance and i was extremely rough and constantly felt like it was going to die. no cel, or vaccum leaks that i can find. he truck has 162k miles. i need to drive back to college tomorrow, so any help is appreciated. thanks
