I know this has been beaten like a dead decomposing horse, but I guess Im looking for "reassurance" before I drop this much money. I LOVE my mickey thompson MTZ's I currently run 36-15.50-20 Local tire center that deals only in off road tires has a set of Toyo MT's 38-15.50-20 with 200 miles on them they took on trade. They are offering me $900 trade in on my tires towards the toyo's which are $1500, so IMO its a pretty reasonalbe deal. I have been wanting to step up to a 38'' tire but my tires are decent and with a price tag of about $2200 new its not in the budget.
So whats everyons thoughts on the toyo Mt's??? How will they compare to my MT's? I have had every tire imaginable but NEVER a toyo, so looking for input.
I love mine aside from the mileage difference lately. Better dry/wet pavement traction than my old BFG T/As, pretty decent on dirt roads and little need for 4wd in mild conditions. Compared to my MT Baja belteds they are fracking amazing, I hated those tires for where/What I was doing.
Thanks for the input! IM really leaning towards getting them, just want to make sure Im not gonna end up with a lesser tire then my current Mickeys. Truck never sees anything more then a dirt road, so the amount of miles I will get out of them is key to me. Ive spent $1500 on swampers etc and got 8-10K miles out of them, cant afford that in this economy LOL
I've put 6k on mine in the last year and they haven't showed much of any wear. If I weren't so lazy right now, I'd give you a measurement on the lugs. Right now, I'm driving 25x further to work than when I bought the tires. I'd like to have the 1/2mpg back from my warn out BFGs, but these toyos have been great otherwise.
I LOVE my 35's. I won't put any other tire on my truck again, with one exception. I may try the new Nitto Trail Grapplers when they come out, just to see how they compare.
BTW you dealing with Galloway's. I went to them to price out a set of new Toyo MT's, and (I forget his name) said they have a hard time getting the Toyo's at a decent price. I get mine from RimzOne in Mooresville.
Also, I've passed you (going other direction) a couple times on 52. SHARP truck dude!
EDIT: I forgot to add, that I have about 20K on mine, and they have easily over half thread left, probably about 60% left. I'd go for it.

Yupp galloways, yeah as a rule of thumb you can usually get tires cheaper online, but the good thing about Galloways is the fact that they have most everything in stock......instant gratification LOL I really didnt have a new set of tires on my list anytime soon, but I went by there yesterday to pick up a used tire for a spare and was looking through the used tires and seen these.
I tried to deal with them guys in Mooresville when I bought my current mickeys, they didnt seem to care if they sold me a tire or not.
What truck do you have? Im sure I have seen it at some point. I work at McCauley so im on 52 constantly.
One thing I have always heard about galloways is that there willing to move a little bit on price, depending on what your trading ect...
I don't think it would hurt to see if they would negotiate a little bit. As was said before with todays economy, there cant be all that many people lining up to spend some serious money on "toys"
Yep Galloway's is cool about trading stuff in for credit on new. I haven't personally bought from them, but know of a bunch of guys who have. I was up there talking to Darryl about re-gearing, and Just happened to talk to Todd about some new tires. I told him I had a price from RimzOne of 1200 even mounted/balanced, and he just said they have a hard getting the Toyos at a competitive price. I gave him my business card and just said to see what he could do, but never called me back with a price. I'm sure he was probably just busy.
I guess the reason I went with RimzOne is we (Dad and Brother in law's business) have an office in Mooresville, and I could drop the truck off, and ride to the office with my dad and have him take me to pick it up.
I could see how they would seem not to care if they sold you tires or not. I asked the installers how many sets of tires/wheels they do a day, and they told me they probably average 15 or so. They actually had the entire back half of their parking lot full of sets of tires/wheels on pallets for shipment. They said that out of every ten sets of tires they sell currently, 7 are Toyo MT, 2 are Nitto Terra Grapplers, and 1 Mickey Thompson (either the ATZ or MTZ). They must have had at least 30 sets ready for shipping, and EVERY one that day had Toyo MT's.
I have a red 2002 F250 CCSB. There are a couple kinda like mine. I've got a State plate up front, and various State, John Deere, Browning, etc decals on the back glass. I usually have a red landscape trailer in tow with toolboxes, generator, compressor, etc on it.
I cant compare them to MTs but i have them on my wifes grand cherokee and the wear is excellent. There great in the snow, and pretty quiet for a fairly aggresive tread.
