I need help,
In the last month I have blown my ignition fuse in my 08 F-350
cc long bed diesel. As I turn the ignition on to start the truck, the
dash lights go dead and the truck is dead. The ignition fuse is blown.
The first time I replaced the fuse and was on my way.
Today same thing turned the key to on, boom blown fuse. replaced it
and it blew again. then I put in a second fuse and it was fine.
Any input would be good.
Thanks Jay.
can you elimate the alarm out of the circuit and then see if you still have the issue?
Yes, however I will have to pay the install shop to remove the alarm,
and wait about a month, that is about how long between fuse blows
it seems to take. On one hand it's a good idea, on the other it's costly.
I was hopeing that maybe someone else may have had this problem. if not
I will have no choice but to have the alarm removed.

Jay, It would be helpful to know which fuse panel and what fuse number you are talking about to help narrow this down.
I have a habit of turning everything off before I shut down my truck. A/C, radio, lights, just everything. Maybe you could try it for a while. I don't know if it makes any difference or not but when you start up you won't have any draw from that stuff.
I would put an amp meter in series with the battery cable and check the current draw when the ig switch is moved to the pre crank position. I suspect a glow plug problem.
You shouldn't have to uninstall the alarm to determine if it's the problem. Just find where they tied it to power and remove the fuse it's on (if it's not needed for anything important) or disconnect the power wire. Most alarms will also have their own in-line fuses that you can pull as well to take it out of the circuit. If it's determined to be the problem then take it back to the install place and let them fix it. If it's not the problem then take it to the dealer and show them that the problem persists even with the power to the alarm shut off. It should be covered under warranty.
