Extendable mirror info.

Can you guys give some back ground information on this outside mirror. I plan on selling it (or trade) but I would like some info I can put in the ad. I've seen these types of mirrors on F1's but as you can see it's on my 53 F100. I dont' know if the PO just switched the mount or if this is a complete custom made mirror. Besides from a real crappy paint jod and minor surface rust it seems to be in good condition. All joints bend and move, glass is perfect. I'll save the details for the ad but any back ground info would be appreciated.

I may be wrong, but I think that is the correct original mirror for your truck. Most have been discarded in favor of the dealer optioned chrome mirrors. I have seen them with square or rectangular headed mirrors too.

So is this another one of those parts they don't reproduce, because I haven't seen then in any catalog.

Mac's has them for sale for around $76, I think they may be a Dennis Carpenter part but they don't have a picture on their site. This is from the Mac's web site:

Yea that's the one I saw on C&G but it says it for the F1 pre-52. Mine is pretty much exactly like that except the part that mounts to through the door is different.
