Hi all,
I'm new here and have a 2006 F150 Supercrew Lariat. We bought it used and it now has about 91,000 km. (56,000 miles).
We were driving yesterday in the city and it started to run very rough, misfiring, and blowing black smoke, especially on acceleration. We have the extended warranty and dropped it off at the dealer last night. They had it fixed by noon today and it turned out that the #3 injector failed. I'm not sure if it actually failed or was plugged.
Is this normal for an injector to go so soon? Is it because of the fuel quality?
Hopefully this doesn't happen again.
Just for kicks, I asked how much to change the spark plugs at the same time. They said $350 plus taxes, not including any labour if a plug breaks off! I said no thanks!
I'll follow the suggestions I've been reading on here and try to change my plugs soon before it's too late!

yeah dood i would bring it too your ford dealer, i found an awesome ford dealer. they impress me each and every time. i paid 400$ total Canadian to have my plugs done. the secret was they let the plugs soak over night and had no problems the next day, BTW its 100$ each plug that breaks. oh almost forgot, if you get ford too do it they put 120,000km warrenty on the plugs Good Luck
