Hey ya'll,I had a quick question about the color of the woodgrain on the factory dash bezels from 80-84....I'm making some wooden arm rests for my truck since the old vinyl ones are crap, and I want to stain them to match the woodgrain dash bezels I wanna get.I've heard the bezels are called Redwood, and I've also heard Rosewood.I'm guessing it's Rosewood, but i'm not sure.Any help is greatly appreciated.
For those wondering why I chose wood for the armrests,I never use the armrests since my arm is always out the window, and I think the wood would match the dash bezels nicely.
I think its rosewood but I'd google rosewood grain pattern and see what you can come up with. I'd like to see pics if you do make them out of wood...I saw some made from a 2x4 with about 15 minutes put into it but it sounds like youre planning on a little more than that
post pics of your dash. There were 2 different woods available
Yes there were two,the one i'm looking for, which was made between 1980-1984,and the Burlwood style, which was made from 1985-1986.I'm looking for the name of the 80-84 style...

I have some pics of where i'm at now.Once I find out whether the correct stain is rosewood or redwood,i'm gonna do final adjustments and sanding, and then once they're stained to the right color,i'm gonna install them in the truck. They look like crap now,but only because they're not stained the right color...
