Hi everyone
Could use a little help. Went to start the truck last night and it would not turn over. As I have said before on this site, I am pretty good at turning wrenches, but am electronically challenged. I replaced the battery and am getting a clicking out of the selinoid. Lights are dim. I have been here before with plenty of my older fords. I have seen lose connections, selinoid not tight to the fender and bad ground straps cause this- Can someone give me the correct steps to test this.
If the solenoid is clicking over and over, the voltage at the solenoid is too low. Possible problems include low battery voltage, poor battery cables, low voltage at the 'S' terminal in START, or poor ground at the fender. There is little you can do to solve this problem without the use of a multimeter.
