460 with c6?

can u put a c6 transmission on a 460 engine? right now i have 351w with a 3spd c6 in my 72 f100. is it possible?

Yes. A C6 was all that was available on early 429/460's in terms of an automatic. Not the same bellhousing pattern as a 351W, though.

429/460S Share the bell housing with the 351M/400. To mount the 460 you need factory 460 mounts or a aftermarket set of mounts and you can reuse the stock transmission mount.

The trans you have is a small block pattern C6 that fits 240/300 I6 and 289/302/351W and 351C engines.
