coolent filter placement
i have a remote oil filter bracket. I was woundering seinse this fits a ford oil fiter FL-1 will a standered coolent filter fit? also how should i install this. Can i just put it in a heater hose?

Whoa...slow your roll....first check to see if someone makes a Non-SCA releasing filter that works with it...then just follow any of the explicit directions on several discussions on this very topic. You can even go to a couple of the sponsors sites DFUser, Dieselsite...and check out their mounting procedures. Most locate the filter housing and filter on the passenger side just left of the radiator support frame facing aft. Another location could be just behind the grill. I'd try to keep it level with the top of the engine though. Add a couple of ball valves to make changing the filter easier.

I see no reason why you couldn't retro fit it to anything you wanted. I'm not sure there is a "standard" coolant filter anyway. All you need is something to strain your coolant and you don't need a filter that adds any coolant chemicals. You could easily remove the flare fittings that are in the base now and put in some barbed elbow fittings, mount up and go.
