Are you tie rod ends tight? If they are worn it can cause the truck to wonder. There is a screw on the top side of the gear box to tighten things up, it looks like a cut off bolt wiht a screwdriver slot cut in it. It will have a jam nut on it.

I would also check the steering shaft. they like to wear at the slip joint between the lower & intermediate shaft. getting ready to buy one for my truck for that reason.

Just go easy on the screw. Don't overtighten it. Things will wear fast if you do.

have you checked your front end alignment? Our trucks are famous for being out of wack.

the saginaw steering gear in our trucks are not always the best, than when they go to ATSCO for overhaul they don't put in new gears, I am on my 4th gear box on my service truck and all have had 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn of play in the steering wheel.
When I worked for Firestone in Nevada we had a truck that had the ford wander, we replaced all th ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks, steering gear set the alignment every where from minimum spec to maximum spec and never got the truck to quit wandering.
