body mount heights

Any one know the three different sizes for the 6 cab to chassis mounts. I am going to make new ones from hockey pucks. I think they will stand up better than the poly and the rubber for a fraction of the price. Its hard to tell the actual size from mine and the ones at the wreckers cause of there age.

Does anyone have a kit they are about to install, (bodymounts) cause I could use the measurements. It will save me from shimming the box, at the very least. I was planning on taking all the old ones off then driving, in another car to the bolt and nut supply and putting in all new hardware., with of course my homemade hockey puck bodymounts. I would throw 8 more pucks under the bed for a body lift but I dont think its possible to lift the cab to match without a extended pitman arm. Correct me if I am wrong. or if you think this plan is just plain stupid.

i would check with the authority's i don't think it's legal to use hockey pucks.they could swell up if exposed to oil and gas,and will dry out and crack and crumble.i would call LMC or NPD and price out new ones. it's a matter of saftey, don't want you to have a wreck.ive seen guy's use these for body lifts and seen them fail.IMO

I hear ya, safety first is what they say., however, I have played hockey a long time and put pucks through much punishment and have never seen one break. I dont even want to try those shiny plastic ones, I can hear them squeaking already. ??

Hockey pucks are not designed with that kind of loading in mind. They will crack, split and break, been there, done that.
For what a poly bushing set costs, it's not worth fooling with.

As for a body lift, no pitman arm modifications are needed, as the steering box is bolted to the frame...
