I just finished dumping 6 quarts of Trans oil and 4 quarts of 15W40 in my 6.9 this is to clean the **** from inside the engine. (who knows what kinda maintenance it had by previous owners)Tomorow I'll do about 200km (120 miles) of driving, get back home and drain it, change the oil filter and re-fill it with 10 quarts of Valvoline 15W40. I figure it will do it some good. I would suggest doing this to anyone who buys a used truck or car. You never know how it was maintanded by previous owners.
theres alot of people here and on other sites that run a treatment of auto rx through the engine, which is good stuff but quite expensive. ive used it and its made quite a diference in my 85 and gained quite a bit more of oil pressure. i wouldnt spend the money again because ive found something that works just as good in my opinion and its called RISLONE ENGINE TREATMENT. its in a yellow botle and you can get it at most autopart stores.
