I have an 86 F-350 and its wired for a 6 pin round. My trailer is 7 pin rv. is there an adapter that has 6 round on one side to plug into the truck and 7 pin rv to plug into the trailer? If so where is it. Thanks for your ideas. Mat.
you would want to convert to the 7 pin, it has a constant hot in it for chargeing the battery. you can get an adapter for 7 back to 6 round from jiffy hitch.
They do not make an adapter to go from a 6 to 7 . Or any adapter to go from a smaller to a larger, just a larger to a smaller. Like a......
a 7 to 6
a 7 to 4
a 6 to 4
a 7 to 5
Besides, do you have anything that has a 6 round? Probably not. Just put the 7 flat RV plug on and be done w it
6 pin is uaually for the big trucks with air brakes. they don't require a battery back up to apply the brakes in case of a break away. I would go with the 7 pin, you will have more luck when changeing around trailers, your not going to see that many 6 pin on small trailers

tractor trailers use a 7 round pin.parking lamps, clearance lamps, right turn, left turn, brake lamps, hot wire or abs wire, and a ground wire.
