Generally they will self bleed if they are on the low pressure line not 100% on the e4od but would say is ok to just hook up and then start engine. Be gentle on first shift after and check for leaks regular after fitting, auto trans fluid can be sneaky and start leaking a couple of days later.

You might think of putting the 2nd cooler after a thermostat to keep from over cooling the fluid in the winter.

I've been told that 160 degrees in the pan is about the ideal temperature, and behond 230 is bad on the high end, and below 110 is probably too cold to bake off any condensation that gets in the system.

Honestly my set up runs pretty cold. In the fall/winter/spring here i don't see much above 120 unless I'm flogging on the truck in deep snow with the TC unlocked. If the truck is moving I don't see beyond 190 ever, but I also have a triple disk clutch TC.

Towing in overdrive? Well I wouldn't do it without a temp gauge, and not so much up hill. It just depends on the load. I do tow up hill in OD, but I have tons of reserve cooling capacity for the transmission, a carefully watched gauge, and a beefy TC to keep things locked up. EGT is usually what brings me to shift out of OD, but that is a different discussion. Bottom line is I'll run in OD provided the trans temp is good and the EGT lets me get away with it.
