Have a code that faults the Air bypass valve on my 86 f150 5.0. Now, when I checked the valve with the solenoid removed, it shuts just fine. When I put the solenoid on, there is a small amount of air by-passing thru it. My truck currently has a high idle and emissions light (check engine) stays lit.
Does the valve shut off completely when in proper working order, or is there always that small amount of bypass. Was thinking maybe the spring or seals in the valve are too far gone to retract the valve fully.
Any ideas or suggestions???
