My '67 is giving me fits with it fuel system. I just got the transmission reinstalled, and the engine would not fire. Found the pump was not getting fuel to the carb. So I replaced the pump. Ran for a while, then died again, no fuel to the carb. So I suspect the fuel line between the pump and tank is leaking so the pump cannot pull fuel. Can I just run rubber fuel line from the tank to the pump or should I use metal? Thanks!
Rubber from the pump to the carb will trap heat and cause the fuel to boil by the time it reaches the carb. That has been my experience. Stick to a metal line. I use 5/16 brake line. It ought to last another 30+ years and you will have gotten your money's worth for sure.
