v clamp woe's

i did the egr mod on my truck and now i cant get the clamp that holds the exhaust inlet to the turbo to seal properly. the downpipe is fine its the other one on the driver side. ihave a 6.0 and i have had 3 mechs try for hours with no luck. the second one got it to seal better but it was still leaking. the last mech i bought a new clamp and its back to like it was when the first mech tried. any ideas

Loosen the turbo on the pedestal loosen the exhaust at the cat and turbo,tighten the up pipe clamp then re tighten the turbo then the down pipe then the exhaust.
