285's vs 305's

So, I gotta buy tires soon. I have been running 305's last couple of sets but was thinking about going down to 285's this time. My only concern is how they will look on a leveled front end. Filling out the fender well, not too narrow. I know that the diameter of the tires are virtually the same. Havent had the chance to set them side by side yet. Has anyone ran both sizes and which did you prefer?

I have 285's on 16x8.5" rims and a leveling kit up front. The rear has 1 ton SRW springs with 1 5/8'' blocks.

I've got 285/70/17 on my 05' 350 and was thinking about going to a 305 to get away from that stock looking tire. Do the 305's affect your turning radius at all? Why do you want to down size?

Here's mine with 285's on stock Lariat rims. I have the full front leaf leveling add-a-leaf. I think the tires are a tad skimpy for the massiveness of the truck.

Who cares? If they are load E rated, I don't care how big they are. They will haul the same load.

Good point. I forget that some folks value style over function. Shell it out.

I have run 285/75/16 on my trucks for several years now but the last time I bought 305's...I will be going back to 285's.
They are harder to turn in parking lots, more vibration as they get worn(even balanced),stick out past the rim more(factory rims still).
Just my opinion,285's do all I need to do w/ the Tuffcountry 2'' leveling kit.
