Is there a certain brand of battery chargers you folks might recommend? Nothing fancy. And it is all my own damn fault. Because I asked for one at christmas and didn't give specifics so I got one of these little black-n-pecker rechargables! It has enough poop to turn the radio on or start my wifes rice grinder, but it won't roll my 351 over...ever. And I could really put a boot up my very own spincter for leaving the key turned on for the past 24 hrs (ditigal clock, gauges). It just irritates the living rat turds out of me when I do this to my very ownself.
Thank You Guys and Gals
i like battery tenders as ive seen there pretty good but thats just my opinion as ive never used them that much but im sure some one else will chime in
Are you looking for just a charger or a jump starter? Battery tender just makes chargers I think, but I've had good luck with their small maintenance chargers. I think their bigger chargers are a little pricey for what ya get. If ya want a name thats been around forever and seems like they have a strong following I've never heard anything bad about Schumacher. If ya want something big enough to turn over a Peterbuilt look at any of the models that have wheels.
All I have ever needed was a small 10 amp battery charger. It does a good job at slow charging the battery overnight, which is the best way to do it.
If you need a jump, I have fallen in love with these carry around jump boxes. Mine works great at boosting a dead vehicle, and you can use it without having to plug it in. It will crank a lawnmower over by itself, and will work for camping power too with a inverter.
I second the jump box recommendation. I was always amazed at the way that thing would revive my ‘72 429 like it was nothing. The one I have came from Costco and might have cost 50 bucks. As for battery chargers, I use a solar panel for maintenance these days. I also have a small Exide 1.2 Amp charger and an old school Powercharger that is capable of ~80Amps. They all have their place but the jump box wins for versatility.
