anyone replace their crankshaft postion sensor
well been working on my 94 ranger 2.3 engine; believe my crankshaft sensor is faultly (no spark, no click at injectors, engine just cranksover but doesnt start)..
anyway, replacing the old sensor with new one is a bee attch!
it has a very narrow path for the sensors harness (it is installed at factory behind air compressor mounting and timing belt housing.
the ends of sensor unit are too big to slide the old unit out and replace with the new one.
SO has anyone does theirs yet?
was at another site and guy said one has to bring new sensor unit over another way due to the narrowness of old path....but i dont think the replacement new part would be long enough to re-route...
any thoughts would be appreciated....sure dont want to remove the whole air- condition unit and mounts just to do this dang thang!
well the portal between the back of the plastic timing belt housing and the engine block/ air conditioner housing bracket had to be widened....took a drill bit and metal files to enlarge, then i found if i took the computer end of the crankshaft sensor and slide it through at a certain angle it finallly went through...
a real ..itch if you ask me....
and my truck still didnt start....aint that a ))&#)))#(!
good luck with your expedition
